Embark on a unique beekeeping tour that offers an informative and interactive experience with experienced beekeepers. During the approximately one-hour tour, guests will have the opportunity to explore a live hive, observe bees in their natural habitat, and learn about the process of honey production from flower to jar. The tour also includes a free sampling of different honey varietals and a short video presentation. Located near popular attractions such as the Painted Church and Kealakekua Bay, Big Island Bees offers a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. Guests are encouraged to make reservations in advance due to limited tour capacity, with a maximum of eight participants per tour, including children. The tour is stroller and wheelchair accessible, with both indoor and outdoor portions of the tour conducted undercover to accommodate various weather conditions. Visitors are advised to prearrange transportation to and from Big Island Bees, as taxis are not readily available in the rural area. Minimal walking is required during the tour, and no protective clothing is necessary.
