The Bird Lovers' Road to Hana is a 9-10 hour private guided tour for up to 6 people, with rates starting at $1045 for 1-2 people and $195 for each additional guest. Led by knowledgeable bird "nerd" tour guides, participants will have the chance to look for and discuss birds throughout the day. The tour begins with a pick-up time of 8:00AM either from your hotel or at Target Kahului. From there, the tour heads to the "backside" of East Maui, stopping along the way to enjoy views and potentially spot birds such as the pueo (short-eared owl) and white-tail tropic birds. Participants will also visit a local pond to see shore birds like Hawaiian stilts and black-crow night herons before stopping in Hana town for lunch at a local food truck. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Wai'anapanapa State Park to see the Black Sand Beach and endemic Hawaiian black noddies.
