The Oak Alley Plantation Tour includes round trip transportation and admission to the grounds, with a duration of approximately 5 hours. Guests will be picked up between 8:00 am and 8:30 am from their hotel by Crescent City Tours & Transportation. The plantation, located 70 miles from the French Quarter, features stunning Oak Trees, a Greek Revival style house, a blacksmith shop, restaurant, and antique farm equipment. During the tour, guests will spend about 2 hours at the plantation, including a 35-minute guided tour of the Oak Alley house conducted by the plantation's own guides. After the house tour, visitors can explore the property at their own pace, from the blacksmith's shop to the souvenir shop. The plantation is known for its 28 grand Oak Trees lining the path to the house, reminiscent of scenes from the movie "Gone with the Wind." The history of Oak Alley Plantation dates back to 1837 and has been preserved through the efforts of various individuals who have cared for the property over the years. The adaptive restoration in 1925 by the Stewarts marked the first example of Antebellum restoration along River Road. Today, the Oak Alley Foundation maintains the home and grounds, allowing visitors to experience the rich history and beauty of this iconic plantation. Guests can expect a guided tour of the mansion, time for a self-guided exploration, and the option to enjoy lunch at the Oak Alley cafe or Deli before returning around noon.
