Adventure Details
Embark on a 6-hour boat adventure starting from Icy Strait Point, where you will be taken on a scenic drive through the Alaska Native Tlingit village of Hoonah before reaching a remote river in the Tongass National Forest on Chichagof Island. Here, you will have the opportunity to fish for Salmon and/or Trout in a beautiful natural setting. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way, as the island is known for its high population of brown bears. Depending on the season, you may witness salmon spawning and forage for wild berries during your excursion. Upon reaching the river, you will be provided with waders to fish in the pristine waters. You can choose to stay in one spot or explore different fishing holes along the river. After a day of fishing and wildlife spotting, you will be driven back to town via old logging roads, where you will be dropped off at Icy Strait Point or your preferred destination in Hoonah. To participate in this adventure, all fishing guests aged 16 and older must have a fishing license. A 1-day license can be easily purchased online for $15. It is recommended to bring a rain jacket, warm socks, and polarized sunglasses. Waders will be provided, but guests with larger shoe sizes or wider calves may need to bring their own boots/waders. Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental.
