This two-day clinic is designed for beginners and novice paddlers who are interested in learning the fundamental skills of whitewater kayaking. Led by friendly and experienced ACA certified instructors, participants will receive instruction on basic strokes, river maneuvers, and safety practices. The clinic includes all equipment, catered lunch, and transportation to and from the paddling sites, making it a convenient and comprehensive learning experience. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills in a supportive and fun environment, with the goal of building a solid foundation in the sport of kayaking. The first day of the clinic focuses on introducing participants to the sport of kayaking and essential skills such as exiting the kayak safely, basic strokes, and maneuvers like eddy turns and peel outs. The instructors utilize a games-based learning approach to make the experience enjoyable and engaging. On the second day, participants continue to work on river maneuvers and have the opportunity to run a Class I-II section of the river, providing a hands-on learning experience in a controlled environment. The clinic aims to start beginner paddlers on a path towards confidently paddling on their own. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing for paddling, including synthetic long underwear, fleece or wool socks, a bathing suit, and a fleece or wool jacket/sweater for cooler weather. Zoar Outdoor provides all necessary equipment, including a boat, wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, and paddle, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience on the water. Additionally, a catered picnic-style lunch is included in the price of the clinic. Damage Deposit
Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental.
