The ASA 105 Coastal Navigation online course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe navigation of sailing vessels in coastal and inland waters. This course builds on the foundational skills introduced in previous ASA courses, offering progressively detailed elements to enhance navigational competence. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of coastal navigation, preparing them for the complexities of navigating in various waterways. The course is self-paced and can be accessed for up to 120 days from the date of purchase, allowing students flexibility in their learning schedule. While the course is designed to eliminate the need for additional textbooks or workbooks, the purchase of basic chart plotting tools is recommended to enhance practical skills. A training chart will be provided upon registration to ensure students have the necessary resources for hands-on navigation practice. In addition to the online course material, students have the option to participate in two 30-minute live help sessions with the assigned instructor if needed. This additional support can further enhance the learning experience and provide clarification on any challenging concepts.
