Experience the beauty of the Sonoran Desert on a 2.5 hour paddling tour at Saguaro Lake, just a 40 minute drive from Phoenix. With a beach launch and stunning views of iconic saguaro cacti and towering canyon walls, this 3.5 mile paddle offers a unique opportunity to connect with the natural scenery of the American Southwest. Our knowledgeable guides will help you perfect your paddling technique and share interesting facts about the local landscape, flora, fauna, and history. This adventure is suitable for paddlers of all levels and ages, with tours available year round. Kayaks, paddle boards, seats, paddles, PFDs (life jackets), dry bags, a Tonto Forest Parking Pass, water, and light snacks are provided. Visitors are advised to wear sun protective clothing, sunglasses, a hat, and shoes that can get wet, with synthetic clothing recommended in cooler weather. Additionally, guests should bring water, snacks, sunscreen, a camera, and a change of dry clothes. Vault toilets are available at the launch site, but there is no running water. Special considerations include double kayak options, a 3.5 - 4 mile tour length, and the requirement of prior paddle or stand up paddleboard experience, with children under 12 years old required to be in a double kayak with an adult guardian. Riverbound is an authorized outfitter operating under permit through the Tonto National Forest Mesa District, with all tour guides CPR and ACA certified.
