This popular guided walking tour takes you along a dramatic coastline with remarkable cliffs and rock formations, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The walk, classified as a partial natural reserve, showcases unique plant species exclusive to Madeira Island, making it a must-do route for nature enthusiasts. During the 3.5-hour adventure, you will have the opportunity to explore the diverse flora and fauna of the peninsula, with sightings of approximately 140 plant species, 31 of which are exclusive to Madeira. The walk also provides panoramic views of the Deserted Islands in the south and the islands of Porto Santo in the north, weather permitting. As you reach the far end of the peninsula, you will come across the “Cais do Sardinha,” a support station for the rangers of the Natural Park of Madeira, before heading back to the starting point with a stop at a stunning viewpoint. This guided walking tour includes an official Mountain Guide, transportation, and insurance, as required by Portuguese law. For an additional cost, you can opt for a picnic lunch with various options such as ham and cheese sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, chicken salads, tuna sandwiches, tuna salads, or a veggie option, each pack including a bottle of water, juice, fruit, and chocolate.
