The tour includes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours of walking on the glacier, covering around 3 miles (3.2 km) of icy terrain. Expert glacier guides will provide micro-spikes for secure footing on the slippery surface, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants. The tour begins with a 2-hour drive along the breathtaking Glenn Highway, offering stunning views of the Alaskan landscape. Hotel pickup is included for added convenience. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the face of the Matanuska Glacier and capture amazing photos of the natural beauty surrounding them. Bottled water and snacks are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch or purchase snacks along the way. Participants must be at least 8 years old to join the glacier hike, and parents or guardians are required to sign a liability release for minors. The tour is rated as moderate in terms of activity level, requiring walking on a slippery and uneven surface. Dressing in layers is recommended, as summer temperatures can range from 45 to 80 F (7 - 27 C). Light hiking boots or sneakers are suitable for footwear, but flip flops or sandals are not permitted.
