Experience a unique and adventurous stay at "The Nellie", a private yurt overlooking Grant Lake in Alaska. This self-supported, primitive adventure requires your group to be comfortable with backcountry travel, kayaking in cold water, and camping in bear country. Access to the yurt involves boating to the trailhead, with transportation not included in the rental. Named after legendary pioneer Alaska Nellie, "The Nellie" yurt accommodates up to 5 people with bunks, a handmade spruce table, and old-fashioned board games for entertainment. Camp amenities include kayaks for exploring Grant Lake, a woodstove for heating, a covered kitchen area, and a bear box for safety. Guests are responsible for bringing personal items like sleeping bags, propane cylinders, utensils, and food. For those without their own transportation across Trail Lake, optional kayak rentals are available for a fee. Solo kayaks have a weight capacity of 350 lbs, while tandem kayaks can hold up to 500 lbs. Rental includes use of a kayak to and from the trailhead, making it easier for visitors to access the yurt. Damage Deposit
Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental. This damage deposit secures the host if the boat is damaged during your rental. The damage deposit must be taken from the same card that the booking was made on. Questions?
