Embark on an 8-hour adventure cycling along the Ecopista do Dão, a converted railway branch with 130 years of history, starting in Viseu and ending in Santa Comba Dão. This self-guided tour covers 49.2 km of picturesque landscapes, including orchards, vineyards, and the stunning Rio Dão. Participants will have the opportunity to explore old Ecopista stations and stops, such as the Torredeita Station with its historic locomotive, while taking in the diverse flora and fauna along the route. The day begins with a car pickup in Coimbra, followed by a scenic drive to Viseu where the bike tour commences. Enjoy a mostly downhill ride with breathtaking views of cork, chestnut, and oak trees in the northern area, as well as strawberry trees and the Granjal bridge in the south. After reaching Santa Comba Dão, participants will be collected and transported back to Coimbra, where the bikes will be loaded onto the vehicle for the return journey. This full-day experience includes transfers, snacks, bike rental, and helmet, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable adventure for all. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for this cycling excursion, which is suitable for individuals who are fluent in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
