The Tutka Bay Express offers an exciting 8-hour boat adventure for ages 13 and up, departing from Homer, Alaska. Guests must have a current Alaska Fishing license with a salmon stamp for each person who will be fishing on the kayak fishing adventure. The journey begins with a safety briefing and instruction on kayaking and fishing while en route to the dock in Tutka Bay. Guests may spot whales and other wildlife in the Katchemak Bay ecosystem during the 25-minute ride. Upon arrival at the dock, guests will don appropriate gear for kayak fishing in sit-on-top kayaks. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, kayakers may also have the opportunity to hike, dig for clams, and view fish. The kayakers and vessel will return to the dock at the scheduled time, where guests will be safely transported back to Homer. Kayak fishing in Alaska can be challenging, but the experience of reeling in a big salmon is worth the effort. All necessary kayak and fishing equipment is provided for the adventure, but guests are responsible for any lost equipment. A maximum of 4 people are allowed per kayak fishing adventure, and a fishing license with a salmon stamp is required for each person fishing. While no experience is necessary to join the adventure, having previous kayaking or fishing experience is recommended to fully enjoy the experience.
