Embark on our longest trip yet by paddling the entire Upper James River Water Trail. This adventure is open to ages 12 and older, with an adult guardian, and requires a minimum group size of 8 people. The pricing includes everything you need for a safe and enjoyable journey, from boat rental to safety orientation and river maps. This 63-mile trip offers a true wilderness river experience, complete with thrilling rapids, stunning scenery, picturesque campsites, mountain views, fishing opportunities, and refreshing swim spots. The adventure culminates in running the white water section "James River Gorge - Balcony Falls." Customers have the chance to resupply in the towns of Buchanan and Glasgow during the trip, making it ideal for Boy Scout groups looking for a 50-miler qualifying trip. Due to the remoteness and challenging rapids of the trip, prior Canoe/Kayak Class I-II+ experience is required. Arrival times for the trip are at 8:30am or 11:00am, and the last day return shuttle pick up time is at 2:00pm. Damage Deposit
Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental.
