The Gala River Front Campground, located in Eagle Rock VA, offers a serene camping experience on an 8-acre wooded site. With rates starting at $12 per person per night, plus a minimum $36 camping fee, visitors can enjoy a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Children under 5 are not included in the billing process, making it an affordable option for families. Situated about 30 minutes or 21 river miles upstream from Buchanan, VA, this campground allows both drive-in and paddle-in access. Despite being unmanned, the site offers amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, and gravel tent areas. Visitors can also take advantage of the group river access area, port-a-potties, and a dumpster for trash disposal. However, there are no water or utilities provided, so guests must bring their own supplies. Access to the campground by road is restricted to vehicles under 25 feet in length, as there is a railroad bridge that limits the size of vehicles. This means that large RVs may not be able to fit under the bridge. To secure a spot at the Gala River Front Campground, advanced reservations are required.
