Experience the ultimate Hawaiian surf adventure with Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors (HLSI). Our private surf coaching sessions cater to all ages, with extended water times and special rates for Kama’aina. Learn to surf or improve your skills with a 1:1 private lifeguard surf coach, who is fully trained and certified by the American Red Cross. The total surf school experience includes a 15-minute classroom session, up to 2 hours of surf time at Kahalu'u Bay, and all necessary equipment rentals. Inclusions in the surf school package consist of a private lifeguard surf coach, a condensed classroom session at HLSI headquarters, surf time at Kahalu'u Bay, surf board and leash rentals, as well as rash guard water shirt and water shoes. Return surfers can skip the classroom session and head straight to the waves. Participants are required to bring swim attire, towels, sunscreen, and swim shirts, with free rentals available for water shoes and short-sleeved shirts. Hawaii state or school ID is necessary to qualify for local rates. Please note that all students must be able to swim and participate in intensive cardiovascular and physical activity. Parents or guardians of minor children must remain on location if they are not surfing. HLSI does not provide student transportation, but ideal surf viewing areas are available at Kahalu'u Beach Park for spectators. Personal items can be stored with HLSI, but students are encouraged to leave large belongings in their vehicles for convenience. Damage Deposit
Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental. This damage deposit secures the host if the boat is damaged during your rental. The damage deposit must be taken from the same card that the booking was made on. Questions?
