The Advanced Strokes and Technical Skills 1 Day Clinic on the Deerfield River is designed for intermediate kayakers looking to enhance their skills in Class III whitewater. Participants will learn how to navigate challenging rapids, break down the water into smaller sections, and execute moves more consistently. The clinic focuses on improving precision kayaking and is suitable for those who have experience in Class II whitewater and are comfortable with eddyline crossings and practicing the kayak roll. The clinic includes a review of fundamental strokes and techniques, as well as instruction on river signals, scouting techniques, and assisted rescue techniques. Participants will work on challenging moves in Class II whitewater to prepare them for the transition to Class III. The goal is to help kayakers solidify their Class II skills and build a foundation for tackling more difficult whitewater.
