This 3-hour walking tour takes you through the winding streets of "Bohemia" to discover the rich history and vibrant music scene that has shaped this iconic neighborhood. Your expert guide will lead you to the best underground clubs and bands performing on that particular night, ensuring a variety of swinging styles and top-notch live music. As you move from club to club, you'll learn about the legendary jazz and social history of Greenwich Village, from iconic venues like Cafe Society to long-gone clubs like Sweet Basil's and The Village Gate. The tour starts early to give you a taste of the energy and excitement of the Village jazz scene, with opportunities to hear masters and innovators perform up close and personal. On Tuesday tours, you may even have the chance to catch a wild Trad Jazz (Dixieland) Jam Session. While beverages and meals are not included in the tour price, there will be opportunities to drink and enjoy the music at each jazz joint. Guests are encouraged to eat before the tour as meals are scarce in current Village jazz clubs. Additionally, bringing extra dollars to tip the musicians, guide, and servers, as well as to purchase autographed CD's from the musicians, is recommended.
