This 3-day whitewater kayaking clinic is designed for advanced beginners to intermediate paddlers who have already completed a beginner whitewater kayak course. The clinic includes all necessary equipment, instruction from ACA certified instructors, catered picnic-style lunches, and transportation to and from the paddling sites. The daily schedule runs from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering a comprehensive immersion into the sport of kayaking. Participants will have the opportunity to refine fundamental river skills such as edging, setting angles, and performing eddy turns and peel outs. The clinic emphasizes fun on the river while teaching proper stroke techniques and responsible whitewater kayaking practices. In addition to on-water instruction, the clinic covers topics such as basic safety, gear outfitting, and river maneuvering in Class I-II rapids. The goal of the clinic is to teach foundational river kayaking skills and build upon the basic techniques learned in introductory courses. Participants will gain confidence in paddling whitewater kayaks on their own and continue to progress their skills. Required clothing and gear are outlined, and participants are encouraged to bring personal items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and any necessary medications.
