Experience the beauty of Aravaipa, a remote canyon in southeast Arizona, on a 2 or 3 day backpacking adventure surrounded by pristine wilderness. This lush riparian zone is home to a variety of wildlife and features towering walls of volcanic rock. Hiking is primarily done in the creek itself, offering a unique and immersive experience in nature. The 3 Day East to West option allows you to explore the main gorge and two side canyons over the course of 2 nights. Expect about 19 miles of moderately strenuous hiking, potential animal sightings, and the need to carry up to 40 pounds in your backpack. Be sure to bring water-draining footwear and neoprene socks, as well as follow the provided packing list for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. Trips are offered year-round with limited group sizes to ensure a personalized experience with one guide per trip. Transportation from Tucson, along with essential gear such as a backpack, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, utensils, and more, are provided.
