Sandhill Charters offers a unique and private boat adventure for families looking to scatter the ashes of their loved ones at sea. With options for both attended and unattended scatterings, the Bonnie Lee departs from the marina and heads offshore into the Gulf Stream or remains in the Intracoastal Waters near the Inlet if conditions are not safe. The family has full autonomy in how they want the ceremony conducted, with the option to bring their own minister, drinks, snacks, and music. The attended scattering trip lasts approximately 2.5 hours, with the boat holding up to 6 guests. The Captain provides a safety brief and overview of the boat before departing to a tranquil location for the ceremony. Upon arrival, a reading of a passage, the scattering of ashes, and a final farewell are conducted before heading back to port at a slower pace for reflection and photos. A Memorial Certificate is provided after the cruise, giving meaning to the family members for future visits or dispersing other cremains at the same location. For families unable to attend the scattering, the unattended scattering option allows them to still have their loved one's ashes scattered at sea. The Captain conducts a dignified ceremony and provides a Memorial Certificate containing photos and coordinates of the scattering site. Additional cremains of other family members can be dispersed on the same cruise for a discounted cost. Damage Deposit
Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental. This damage deposit secures the host if the boat is damaged during your rental. The damage deposit must be taken from the same card that the booking was made on. Questions?
