The Gala River Front Campground offers a unique glamping experience with two wall tents available for rent. The rates are $12 per person per night plus tax, with a minimum camping fee of $36. Children under age 5 are not included in the billing. The campground is located at 80 Thompson Drive, Eagle Rock VA 24085, about 30 minutes or 21 river miles upstream from Buchanan, VA. The campground, situated on an 8-acre parcel within a working dairy farm, allows both drive-in and paddle-in access. It is unmanned, so advanced reservations are required. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and a level gravel tent area. Additional amenities include a group river access area, port-a-potties, and a dumpster for trash. However, there is no water or utilities provided, so guests must bring their own water. Access to the campground by road is restricted to vehicles under 25 feet due to a railroad bridge. This means that large RVs cannot fit under the bridge.
