The tour begins at Rum Island County Park in Fort White, FL, where participants will paddle upriver to local springs, drift back to Gilchrist Blue Springs, and have the opportunity to swim in the 20ft blue water swimming hole. Participants will enjoy the beauty of the clear spring water, surrounded by vibrant vegetation and various wildlife such as birds, plants, turtles, fish, otters, and alligators. The tandem kayaks provided on the tour can accommodate two people, with three springs along the route for swimming stops. While the river water may occasionally turn tannic in color due to excess rains, Gilchrist Blue Springs will always remain clear and blue. Included in the tour are the use of crystal clear kayaks, a certified and informative tour guide, safety equipment, goggles, and dry bags. Reservations are required for all tours, with a weight limit of 425 pounds per boat and 250 pounds per seat.
