Embark on a 5-6 hour adventure in the Trinity Alps Wilderness with a guided day hike to the Canyon Creek Waterfall. This 8-mile round trip hike offers stunning views of high alpine forests, granite rock faces, snowmelt streams, and Sawtooth ridges. While the hike is rated moderate to difficult, participants are advised to be prepared and in good physical condition for the journey. Meet your guide at the river office in Junction City for a morning coffee before heading out on a scenic 15-20 minute drive to the trailhead. Your guide will lead you through the trail, offering insights on the local ecology and providing snacks along the way. After reaching the breathtaking waterfall, enjoy a delicious lunch by the creek near Ripstein Campground and take a refreshing swim in the cool waters of upper Canyon Creek. Expect to spend most of the day on this adventure, with exact times varying based on fitness levels and hiking speeds. Hiking shoes or boots are required, and participants should avoid sandals or flip flops.
