Alki Kayak Tours offers an Intro to Sea Kayaking Course for adults at a rate of $99. This course provides an in-depth introduction to the freedom of sea kayaking, with instructors covering the basics of preparing for a paddle and providing on-water instruction in Elliott Bay. With a limited class size of 5 people, reservations are recommended early to secure a spot. This course is a prerequisite for renting single sea kayaks and is recommended for those interested in the Rescue and Recovery or Sea Kayak Touring Essentials courses. Participants in the Intro to Sea Kayaking Course will learn about equipment, dressing for safety, potential hazards, beach launch and landing techniques, and basic strokes. To prepare for the course, participants should provide their height, weight, inseam, and shoe size to help staff fit them to the appropriate kayak. It is important to come prepared for getting wet, whether by wearing a wetsuit, swimsuit, or bringing dry clothes. Additionally, having a well-fitted wetsuit can keep participants warmer and drier during the course. Tips for enjoying the Intro to Sea Kayaking Course include having croakies or similar attachments for glasses, as well as being prepared to have fun on the water. Wetsuits are available for purchase at the Mountain to Sound Outfitters retail store for those who do not have their own. While the course is designed to stand alone, participants are encouraged to continue their sea kayaking education with the Rescue and Recovery or Sea Kayak Touring Essentials courses for a more comprehensive experience on the water. - Rates: Adults $99 - Limited to 5 people per class - Recommended for rental of single sea kayaks and as a prerequisite for advanced courses TLDR

Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental.
