Combining the adrenaline-pumping thrill of two of New Zealand's most exhilarating rivers into one unforgettable rafting day, this adventure is a must-do for enthusiasts. The journey kicks off in the morning with the Wairoa River, renowned for its grade 5 boulder gardens and challenging waterfalls. After navigating this intense course, participants enjoy a quick lunch break before heading to the enchanting Kaituna River. Here, they will experience the warm water and plunge down the world's tallest commercially rafted waterfall, offering an unparalleled white-water rafting experience. The adventure begins with an 8:30 am departure from Rotorua and concludes around 5 pm. Given the limited opportunities to run the Wairoa River—only available on 26 specific Sundays throughout the summer when the dam is opened—this trip is as exclusive as it is exciting. Participants must be at least 13 years old, possess basic swimming skills, and weigh no more than 120kgs. Note that this activity is not suitable for pregnant women. For those interested in capturing their adventure, the tour is GoPro-friendly, and guests are encouraged to bring a chest harness for mounting their cameras. Among the provided essentials are top-tier guides, custom-built rafts, wetsuits, helmets, lifejackets, paddles, fleece tops, wetsuit booties, and splash jackets. Complimentary transport is included in the morning trip. However, a minimum of six participants is required for the tour to proceed. This dual-river rafting excursion is set to be one of the most exhilarating and memorable experiences in New Zealand’s stunning natural surroundings.
