Maligne Rafting is the only licensed company in Jasper to offer rafting on the ‘Mighty Fraser’ river. Rates are $129 per person for ages 12 and up, with a minimum weight requirement of 90lb/41kg for rafting on Class 3 rivers. The adventure lasts for 5 hours and includes navigating turbulent rapids and spotting seasonal spawning salmon. With a variety of rivers and trips available, including the Sunwapta, Athabasca, and the Mighty Fraser rearguard falls run, they offer Class 3 white water adventures all season long. Licensed raft guides, self-bailing rafts, and all necessary gear are provided for a safe and enjoyable experience. Rivers and trips are graded on an international scale from Class 1 to Class 6, with higher numbers indicating more difficulty and excitement. Maligne Rafting offers paddle rafting for Novice and Class 2 trips, where the guide steers with a paddle, and paddle assist rafting for Intermediate rivers graded Class 3 or higher, where the guide uses oars for greater control. First-time rafters are welcome on all trips, as long as they meet the minimum weight requirement and are physically active.
