Visitors to Waikīkī Beach are encouraged to take a surfing lesson with a knowledgeable Waikīkī Beachboy to fully experience the magic of the waves. These 1:1 lessons are ideal for beginners looking to learn the basics of surfing in a safe and controlled environment. The lessons, lasting 1.25 hours, include 15 minutes of safety briefings on the sand to ensure all participants are prepared for their time in the water. Surf lessons are available daily at various times, making it convenient for guests to schedule their lesson during their stay in Waikīkī. All Waikīkī Beachboys conducting the lessons are certified lifeguards and have received training in CPR, ensuring the safety of all participants. It is important to note that children 12 years of age and younger must take a private one-on-one lesson for safety reasons, emphasizing the importance of proper instruction for all participants. Participants in the surf lessons must be able to swim, and all necessary surfing equipment, including rash guards, is provided. While pregnant women and those with prior neck or back injuries are advised against taking lessons, all other guests can enjoy a memorable experience learning to surf in the beautiful waters of Waikīkī Beach.
