Embark on a 2.5-hour adventure on the beautiful and serene Wekiva River, a federally designated "wild and scenic" waterway located in Florida. This paddle craft excursion is perfect for beginners, first-timers, and kids over 13, offering a safe and enjoyable way to explore nature. Along the shaded river, you may encounter fish, turtles, birds, and even the occasional gator, otter, deer, or bear, making it a truly memorable experience. The journey begins upriver from Wekiva Island, where you will receive instruction on paddling techniques before setting off on the 3.0-mile route to the springs at the state park. Upon arrival, you can choose to hike through the park on a designated trail, swim in the spring head, or simply relax and enjoy the surroundings. The swim area features a unique rock formation where the springs water pours out at a rate of around 50 million gallons, providing a thrilling and safe experience for participants of all ages. After swimming or hiking, you will paddle back to Wekiva Island, allowing the gentle current to guide you along the way. Once back at the starting point, you can unwind at the "Without a Paddle" cafe or the "Tooting Otter Bar" located onsite, making it a perfect way to end the adventure.
