Adventure Details
The PADI Search and Recovery Diver course is designed for certified divers looking to learn effective techniques for retrieving lost items underwater. Participants will practice swimming search patterns, using a lift bag for heavy objects, and planning search operations based on gathered information. This 1.5-day course is not only challenging but also a lot of fun for those interested in underwater exploration. Participants must be at least 12 years old and have a PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver certification to enroll in the Search and Recovery Diver course. Those with a PADI Underwater Navigator certification also qualify for this specialty course. During the course, divers will learn how to locate large and small objects using various search patterns, as well as how to use a lift bag for large or heavy items. In addition to basic scuba equipment, participants will need a compass and underwater slate for the course. Other gear such as a dive light, marker buoys, lines, and reels may be suggested by the PADI Instructor to enhance the search and recovery experience.
