Adventure Details
Experience a full evening of cosmic discovery in Jasper, home to the world's largest easily-accessible dark sky preserve. This program includes both a Planetarium Experience and a Telescope Experience, offering a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky. The Planetarium Experience takes place indoors in a 34-seat domed theatre, where a local astronomy guide leads a virtual tour of the universe, from Earth's orbit to the edge of the galaxy. Guests can also participate in a Q&A session with staff during this 40-minute presentation. The Telescope Experience, held outdoors, provides a hands-on opportunity to view the night sky through powerful telescopes. Guests can learn about the technology behind the telescopes, view recent screen-captures of celestial objects, and even try their hand at photographing the Northern Lights and Milky Way with a DSLR camera. If weather permits, live guided views through optical and video-based telescopes are also available. Please dress warmly for this outdoor event, as evening Rocky Mountain weather can be chilly. Please note that the Telescope Experience is weather-dependent, and while clear skies are not required, the tour cannot guarantee perfect viewing conditions. In the event of cloudy skies, guests will receive a 2-year "rain check" to re-book for another date. Refunds are not provided for weather-related cancellations, but the rain check allows guests to return for a future stargazing experience.
