Adventure Details
Embark on a 2-hour guided adventure on the iconic Weeki Wachee River in Florida, where you'll have the opportunity to observe wild manatees in their natural habitat. Our Guardian Guides, certified by Save the Manatees Club, are committed to education, stewardship, and responsible ecotourism, ensuring a memorable and informative experience. A portion of each reservation is donated to manatee conservation, so you can feel good about supporting these gentle giants. The tour begins at Mary's Fish Camp Road in Springhill, Florida, and is suitable for beginner and first-time paddlers. The current of the river during manatee season requires an intermediate level of physicality, with a challenging paddle against the current followed by an easier return paddle. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including birds, plants, turtles, fish, otters, dolphins, and of course, manatees. The river is popular for recreation, so expect a mix of wild and urban environments during your adventure. Reservations are required for all tours, which depart from Mary's Fish Camp just minutes from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. Pets are not permitted during manatee season, and alcohol and smoking are also prohibited. With weight limits for paddlers and tandem kayaks available, guests can enjoy a comfortable and responsible excursion on the Weeki Wachee River. While manatee sightings are not guaranteed, our experienced guides will do their best to lead you to areas where these gentle creatures are most active during the official manatee season from November 15th to March 31st.
